artists with a passion for teaching ……

Lou’s desire to create a studio was borne out of her incessant need to create and a wish to teach ceramics and share the joy of working with a multitude of art and creative materials. With a diverse background of over 10yrs in social work, working with children and young adults of varied abilities, many with ASD and challenging behaviour. Lou later owned a Beauty and Holistic Therapies business.

A lifelong love of art and having always been a prolific maker and creator Lou eventually studied Ceramics Qualifications at Mid Cheshire college. Where she mainly practised and taught handbuilding and sculpture. Lou loves to teach and takes great pleasure in seeing people develop skills and confidence to allow their creativity to flow. Being a huge advocate of using Art for Health and Well-being, Lou will bring mindful making and creative skills to help ease flow and peacefulness. Lou is a Certified Therapeutic Arts Practitioner. She is also a Reiki Practitioner.

Nic had one of those childhoods when she was happiest making, playing, colouring or learning to knit & sew with her Nana. This developed through her education ending in studying Contemporary Applied Arts in Carlisle, a degree that allowed exploration into print, wood, metal and ceramics. The organic nature of the pottery studio and the tactile nature of hand building appealed to Nichola’s creativity and she found a new avenue to explore.

Using pottery classes as a form of therapy while living in London for 10 years Nic finally gave into pursuing a more creative life in 2014, first moving to North Wales and establishing her ceramic business Irene & Edith. Exhibiting her work across the country and using the stunning Welsh coastline as inspiration. A second move in 2019 relocating back to Lowton just outside Warrington where Nichola grew up has given another new direction for her work and ways to share pottery skills with others.

Beginning to teach classes in early 2023 at Lou’s previous studio, Endfield Farm Pottery - exploring teaching and sharing the joy of clay with others has given an opportunity to develop this wonderful, new creative environment.

We love working together, finding a life balance of flowing energy, ideas, inspiration and proactive creativity.
